Strathclyde 25 Year Old 1990 (cask 12281) - The Sovereign (Hunter Laing)

A Hunter Laing bottling of single grain Scotch whisky from the Strathclyde distillery, aged in a refill barrel for quarter of a century. It was distilled in August 1990 and set aside to mature for 25 years until February 2016. 176 bottles were released as part of the Sovereign range.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Coffee beans and vanilla pods, with a hint of creamy citrus peels underneath.

Palate

Lemon and orange kicks it off, followed by sweet raspberries and a layer of toffee.

Finish

Black tea, cinnamon, vanilla and Mint Imperials.
