A Danish rye whisky here from Stauning, and this one comes in a limited edition bottle that you can customise yourself with the accompanying gold pen and sticker pack! It's produced from Danish rye and barley, which is entirely floor-malted at the distillery. After it's distilled on its signature small direct-fired stills, the spicy spirit is then matured in virgin American oak barrels. The folks at the distillery call it something along the lines of liquid fresh Danish rye bread, which sounds rather good to us...
Rye bread fresh out of the oven is indeed there, with touches of blackberry, peppery oak and menthol.
More forest berries, oaky vanilla and cocoa lead into oily citrus and more spicy oak.
Caramel wafers, ripe stone fruit and chocolate-coated nuts.
