Stauning KAOS Whisky Design Edition
From Denmark's Stauning, KAOS is a unique grain whisky made with locally-grown rye and malted barley that is then aged in first-fill Makers Mark bourbon casks and heavily-charred virgin American oak casks. This limited edition bottle comes accompanied with a gold pen and some very cool sticker designs, so you can personalise it to your heart's content!
The name KAOS is a reference to Danish prime minister, Thorvald Stauning, whose campaign slogan was 'Stauning eller kaos' – Stauning or Chaos – which helped the Social Democratic Party win the 1935 Folketing election by a figure never again reached by any Danish party.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted (and burnt) cereal, which a dusting of baking spice, maple syrup and dark chocolate.
Palate
Smoky spice and a drizzle of treacle, with caramel digestives and cocoa supported by dried apple and sultana sweetness.
Finish
Smoke lingers alongside Lotus biscuits, vanilla and raisin.
