Good whisky, unfortunate finish. I started with high hopes, but it was not to be. It starts with warm rich tones and finishes a strong fruity taste. While individually, either of those would be good, they didn't work together to compliment each other. Each sip is accompanied by a distinct jolt in flavour. This seems to be in the unfortunate position that the sum of the parts is inferior to the parts themselves.
I like the mellow honey flavour.
I love my peaty, serious whiskies, and this whisky brought me to the sunny shores of something you dont have to worry over so much but enjoy equally.
Nice and fruity and a pleasure to drink. This should be in the drinks cabinet, along side the great and good Whiskies.
I received this as a gift. I live nearby this distillery and still haven't been. I will be there tomorrow. It's fruity, with hints of toffee apples. It seems also dry on the finish. Maybe due to tanins from the wine casks it's aged in. Reminds me of some South island whiskey from new zealand. Ready good mellow drinking. Must keep a bottle around
