
From Australia's ever-wonderful Starward distillery comes this five-year-old single malt, distilled in 2016. It spent its days resting in a single first-fill apera barrel (an Australian fortified wine) until it was bottled in 2021, originally for La Maison du Whisky. Just 240 bottles were released at 52.4% ABV.
Fairly woody and a touch herbal, with roasted coffee bean, dried apricot, and orange chocolate.
Cigar box, oily walnut, red grape skin, and sweet ginger, alongside a touch of mint.
A dry finish of cinnamon, tobacco, and oak spice.
