English Whisky Co. 5yo

One of four English Whisky Company single malts which were added to our Single Cask Series in early 2016! This is a 5 year old single malt which was distilled in April 2010, matured in an Oloroso Sherry cask and bottled in February 2016. We've also presented this one with our awesome glass closures!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Plum pudding and mince pies - this should definitely be served after a Christmas dinner! Spice grows in the shape of red chilli and charred oak, resulting in a good balance of savoury and sweet notes.

Palate Very creamy. Quite thick with chewy Sherried malt, with plenty of raisins and sultanas, alongside a touch of white pepper. Becomes enjoyably oily on the mid-palate.

Finish Wafts of sweet, juicy Sherry, and with a subtle hint of smoke too…

Overall As mentioned above, this would make for an excellent Christmas whisky...

Reviews for English Whisky Co. 5 Year Old 2010 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Wow this is stunning, strong but smooth and creamy..
Wow this is the nicest 60+% abv, I have tried to date, for such a strong and quite young single malt it’s very smooth, don’t get me wrong it’s very strong so you only need the slightest sip to fill your mouth with mouthwatering flavours, it’s very creamy and fills your mouth with a oily creamy pepper like taste with a tiny hit of smoke, a nice long lasting smooth sweet aftertaste. I NEED A BOTTLE OF THIS...

Strong , Mouthnumbing , Not for Wimps
Explosive ( suppose it could be used as rocket fuel but that really would be a waste ! ) Great for warming you up on a cold April day . Brilliant for getting rid of toothache --I am 63 so the teeth do hurt a bit now & yes I have been to the dentist regularly . Does tend to numb the mouth a bit for a few minutes so not for wimps ( sorry if I have offended any wimps ) ( NO I am NOT !)
Just a bit disappointed that it did not come in a bottle from the English Whisky Co & the glass stopper goes against the grain a bit , but can accept Could only be better if it had some peat in it
But probably that's my personal preference
