Springbank Vintage 1997 (bottled 2008) - Batch No.2
This is the second batch of Springbank Vintage 1997. The first batch proved very popular indeed, and when this one was bottled in 2008, it was yet another stunning release from the distillery in Campbeltown. Something must have been happening in 1997... It was the year that Daft Punk released their first album, and the Chemical Brothers released brilliant their second album in 1997 too... Perhaps great electronic music is the the perfect soundtrack for distilling great whisky?

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Black pepper, fresh lemongrass, sugared almond, fruity smoke and a touch of forest floor.
Palate
Some classic Springbank saltiness as it opens, followed by lemon peel, Oloroso, cinnamon and melted butter. Maybe some toasted marshmallow too.
Finish
Dark chocolate, Liquorice Allsorts, melted butter once again.
