Wine and Spirits merchant Nickolls & Perks snapped up a cask of Springbank single malt for its own indie collection. Distilled in 1993, the whisky spent the next 31 years maturing in a single refill cask, yielding an outturn of 115 bottles when it was opened in 2025.
Distinctly savoury with impressions of hessian and olive oil, layered over saline brine. Fruit lifts through with freshly cut mango, charred pineapple, and stewed orchard apples.
Textured and complex, opening with ripe melon wrapped in prosciutto ham. Subtle undertones of camphor and icing sugar bring contrast.
Nuances of Riesling-like freshness, anise, and a whisper of smoked spring honey carry through to the finish.
