This is a rather intriguing bottling of 23 year old Springbank from Murray mcDavid's Mission Gold range. It was distilled in 1993 and initially aged in a bourbon hogshead, before being transferred over to a first-fill Koval Bourbon cask then bottled in 2017 with an outturn of just 165 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Grilled pineapple, floral malt and a hint of sea air. A slight hint of maple syrup on waffles, too...

Palate: Smokier than the nose suggests (think smoked meats rather than burnt wood), though fruity sweetness remains at its core.

Finish: Salted chocolate brownie, crunchy brown sugar, peppercorn and toasted cinnamon.
