Campbeltown's Springbank Distillery produces some excellent peaty treats under the Springbank name (it also makes Hazelburn and Longrow whiskies - all are fab), but for this expression, they've paired the peat with something wonderfully sweet - rum! This 15 year old single malt was drawn from rum casks, which have imparted vibrant tropical fruit notes, bringing a delicious juxtaposition to the flavour profile.

Nose: Grassy peat followed by fried banana and stem ginger.
Palate: Tangy at first with tropical fruit juice, before savoury waves of smoke bring balance to the palate.
Finish: Lasting peppery oak and a touch of honeycomb.
