Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength - 56.3% Reviews

Gold in a bottle.

What an astonishing whisky. This is absolutely top class. I had my last drop of the bottle tonight. It almost brings a tear to eyes as I drank the last swallow. I had a glas of Laga 16, but that was not good now, even though it is a fine whisky. Now I am opening a Springbank 18, and hope to have another 12 cask strenght on my shelve soon.

Get it if you can!

I miraculously found a bottle of the first year 2010 release of this offering, and know they have 1 more left at the store. Amazing value for $100CDN and my favourite Springbank release! Will definitely try the add a bit to a cheaper grain brand, I already add a dash of this to Peat Monster and its fantastic!

Grain Whiskies best friend

Add a touch of this to a subtle cheap grain whisky (Aldi’s Solo works particularly well) and the results are astonishing. The springbank funk comes right through and lifts the grain base dramatically. Give it a try!

Excellent,Hurry before it's gone.

Absolutely amazing as you can sit with it all day and probably not name all the things going on here, talk about balance this is it.the bottle I have is the 56.3% known as batch 13.I paid 79.99 US for it and I am heading out for another before it's gone.

Good

Don't be fooled by the 12. I'm always surprised that people don't distinctly notice what is obviously older than its statement whisky. Many distilleries do this especially with cask strength releases. Pay attention.

Great nose very tasty . A better buy than the 18yr.

It's really a nice winter warmerupper. For some reason I like it even better than the 18yr . . So far it is my favorite Springbank offering . Not as long in finish but has all the flavor and character of the distillery .

Superb

I have bought every single batch since the first 12 CS. And loved every one. I just love the oily herbaceous saltiness in this one. Very rewarding when you spend the time to really explore and appreciate what this whisky has to offer.

Its springbank Jim - but not as we know it.

Batch 13 seems to be darker and richer, more sherry / less peat than my last bottle (batch 9 maybe) - and straying from a classic 'springbank' profile. Having said that, the bottle is recently opened and will change as it goes down. After this bottle is finished I'll maybe switch to Longrow.
