The Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown has once again bottle up a cracking cask strength edition of its 12 year old single malt. This time, they've used 50% bourbon casks and 50% sherry casks to build the expression, and it has been bottled up at 55.4% ABV. A dozen years of maturation has done this one very well indeed, as it packs plenty of Springbank's familiar deliciousness, with a wealth of fudge and dried fruit notes.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Dried tropical fruit (think pineapple and mango), with sea salt and cracked black pepper crisps, toasted cedar, and a smidge of chocolate.
Crumbly fudge at the seaside, hay, runny honey, gingerbread, oatcakes, another hint of tropical fruit sweetness.
Dates, cinnamon, orange oils. Earthy smoke sticks around.

Good, but seldom available
