Springbank's Local Barley whisky is an incredibly popular release, and here we have the 2025 edition, made from bere barley grown exclusively at Clochkiel Farm. It was aged in 60% bourbon and 40% sherry casks, then bottled at 55.2% ABV.
Notes of fig rolls, date syrup, plums and star anise kick off this year’s Local Barley.
A savoury element becomes more pronounced on the palate, with notes of burdock, shiitake mushrooms, tamari soy sauce and liquorice.
Notes of campfire ash and treacle molasses come to the forefront in the finish.
