Longrow Red 15 Year Old - Pinot Noir Cask Matured

Gather 'round one and all – its Springbank's annual addition to its Longrow Red series! This 15-year-old peated Campbeltown single malt was treated to 11 years resting in bourbon barrels, before being moved over to Pinot Noir barriques from New Zealand's Grant Taylor Valli Vineyards. The combination of rich peated barley and vinous red fruits works an absolute treat.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

Creamy and fruity on the nose, with notes of custard, bramble jelly, red apples and cherries. The Longrow character presents itself in smoky embers, along with hints of toffee and butterscotch.

    Palate

The smokiness continues on the palate and tannin flavours develop, balanced with sweet confectionary, cranberry and raspberry in this smooth, delicate malt.

    Finish

With briny, maritime elements and the persistence of the smoky embers, the Campbeltown influence is particularly apparent in the finish.
