This very limited batch of Springbank's twice-distilled, heavily peated Longrow single malt spent four years maturing in bourbon casks, followed by a further two and a half in Rioja red wine casks.
Notes of redcurrants, Madagascan vanilla, tiger prawns, salami and peppercorns introduce this dram, with an ashy note present from the start.
The peat smoke builds on the palate, with notes of tobacco, cigar smoke, dark fruits and leather.
A spiciness comes to the forefront in the finish notes of chilli peppers, along with cherry menthol and the continuation of the peat smoke.
