Spirit of Hven Urania Single Malt Whisky
Spirit of Hven's Urania was the first single malt whisky ever made on an island in the Kingdom of Sweden. Distilled on the island of Hven, situated in the Öresund Strait between Denmark and Sweden, Urania was made using barley from Scotland, Belgium and from the island of Hven itself. It was left to mature in casks from America, France and Spain before being hand-bottled without chill filtration or added colourings. The name "Urania" comes from the Muse of Astronomy in Greek mythology, who was also the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne.
"oh...one of theEuropean deliveries of the year... a soft, complex and truly beautiful whisky"
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A core of fragrant cereal, surrounded by notes cracked black pepper, chopped ginger root, fresh peach and vanilla.
Palate
An oily delivery, with ginger continuing on the palate, joined by thyme honey, liquorice and herbal hints.
Finish
Citrus, apple skin and pepper last on the finish.
Overall
Spirit of Hven's Urania makes a great first impression for Swedish island whisky.
