Spirit of Hven Stjerneborg
The Stjerneborg single malt from Sweden's Spirit of Hven is made with a combination of 18 casks – 12 of them held unpeated malt, while the remaining six held peated malt. The casks included red wine as well as sweet wine casks, making for a boldly flavoursome and fruit-forward expression from the small and inventive distillery.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Poached pear and raspberry jam on well-toasted bread, plus herbaceous hints of lemongrass and blackberry leaf.
Palate
More red berry notes, with a hint of red wine richness. Malty honey, soft coastal smoke, and a touch of chcoolate.
Finish
Hints of cocoa and candied peels.
