Description

Joining The Single Malts of Scotland indie bottling collection, a marvellous single malt from the Speyside distillery. Distilled in 1996, the whisky spent 25 years resting in a trio of bourbon barrels. The label depicts a wild looking contraption, presumably a top-secret bit of kit used to marry the whisky in the casks?

Nose

Stewed apple pastries open the way, with zesty orange honey and soft apricot. Juicy pear joins, with a herbaceous touch of lemon balm.

Palate

More cooked orchard fruit and cakey spice lead to hints of candied pineapple, a touch of ginger, and thick-cut marmalade.

Finish

A touch of vegetal malt brings notes of After Eights, cushioned by delicate toasted oak, and lingering zesty tropical fruits.
