From the Speyside Distillery (in Speyside, no less!) comes a 25 year old single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled by Hunter Laing. It was distilled in September 1995 and left to age in a refill hogshead for a quarter of a century until May 2021, when it was bottled up as part of the Old Malt Cask range. 264 bottles were produced.
Dried tropical fruits and a whiff of herbaceous pine, plus chewy caramel.
Cough drops, liquorice, heavy vanilla, a dusting of brown sugar and nutmeg.
Walnuts, caraway, peppercorn, and milk chocolate.
