Speyside 21 Year Old 1998 (cask 13295) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
From the Speyside Distillery comes an independently bottled single malt, released as part of Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range. It was distilled in May 1998 and whacked straight into a refill butt, where it lay resting for the next 21 years. When Douglas Laing finally deemed it ready, it was bottled in May 2019 at a fairly punch cask strength of 61.3% ABV, with the butt yielding only 256 bottles.

Rich, buttery croissant dipped in orange marmalade, with fresh orange juice and a faint prickle of spice.
Palate
Almond croissant now, alongside freshly baked sourdough and apricot jam.
Finish
A hint of vanilla oak, slightly charred citrus peel and sweet malt.
