The SPEY Tenné is a single malt from the Speyside Distillery, owned by Harvey's of Edinburgh. It is initially aged in bourbon casks before enjoying a 6 month finishing period in Tawny Port casks, giving a subtle ruby hue and vibrant, fruit-filled flavour profile.
I drove through Scotland tasting as many whisky brands as I could and this one really stood out. The low price is just the cherry on top
I really enjoy this whisky. I've bought 4 bottles so far and just placed an order for another four.
This whisky definitely taste young which makes it spirity and lacks complexity. It is inferior to single malts such as Glenlivet 12, Arran 10, Ancnoc 12, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, Highland park 12 and Glenfarclas 12. The port influence is noticeable but does not make it better. Its bourbon cask influence is very weak, they probably used tired old cask. You are better off buying single malts with an age statement because they taste better and some are even cheaper than this.
I don't like this whisky at all worst taste of the year so far will not buy again
I got a bottle as a 60th birthday present. Fabulous whisky and a beautiful colour colour, almost like a subtle rose.
