SPEY Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2020
A single cask single malt from the Speyside Distillery in the Speyside region, bottled for 2020's Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. It was distilled in January 2015 and left to mature in a Bourbon cask until April 2020, when it was bottled up at cask strength and released as part of the SPEY range (we're pretty sure you don't have to shout it, even though it's typed in all capital letters). Just 300 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Slightly floral at first, with citrus blossom and vanilla, before moving into soft apricot and nectarine territory.
Palate
Crisp green apple, sugared almond, more vanilla sweetness and fresh barley. Grows spicier as it develops with hints of pepper and cedar.
Finish
Lightly toasted cinnamon bagels and salted butter.
