This stunning Speyburn was matured in American oak and Spanish oak casks for 18 years before being bottled at 40% ABV. This bottling is dedicated to Speyburn’s distillery manager Bobby Anderson, as in a happy coincidence 2018 is his 18th year at the distillery.

Wild decision to reduce the abv of the 15 & 18 to 40% abv and keep the same price. Chill filtration must now also be in use. In the current market I can't see this being anything but a big fumble. Plenty other options in the market to take my cash...
It's a pity the distillery reduced the ABV of the 15 and the 18 from 46% to 40%.
It’s a proper 18 year old whiskey for sure. Has the kick, has the taste, has the warmth. Maybe not 83GBP they ask usually, but for 72GBP, a good bargain.
Can see why this is getting 5 star ratings. Smooth and tasty with a nice mouth feel. Recommended.
I really hope Speyburn stays under the radar because at this price it is an absolute steal. Wonderful dram
