Smokey Joe
A blended malt made up of different Islay single malt whiskies. We're not sure which ones, exactly, but we do know that it tastes delicious!
An immensely fruity nose with note of melon and pear with peat smoke lurking behind. The palate retains the big fruity flavours of the nose with the smoke roaring in. This is an intensely satisfying Islay malt, well worth a try.

I have been blessed to be an avid malt drinker for over 30 years now, beginning of course, with Glenlivet and Glenfiddich but ending up in the brine with a mouthful of peat somewhere off the coast of Islay in the North Sea. That being said, Smokey Joe was a heck of a surprise. I kid you not, this whiskey is a Bowmore, no doubt about it, probably around a 12. Superb whiskey, and a superior buy. Thats it. Hope it helps!
I am not a snob, but have had the opportunity to taste all the greats. My palate prefers the Islays, with the Governor and Laps on top. I just tried Smokey Joe. I kid you not, this is Bowmore 12 bottled inside a catchy name. The big brands are always looking for a way to distribute over production. Guys, this is the real deal. A Bowmore, maybe not 12 but no less than 10. I love it! I am not one who participates is the child's game of , "my scotch is older than your's war". Mac was built on 8, not 12 or 18 that the americans show off to their friends.
If you like lots and lots of peat you will like Smokey Joe. I was a bit shocked with the first taste of Smokey Joe but by the time the bottle was finished I'd become it's number one fan. You have to be a heavy peat fan to like Smokey Joe.
Yes it's slightly friuty with a slight smokey ending. Delicious!
A pleasant whisky that needs some water. And the distilleries don't make a secret that they contribute to it. Ardbeg, Bowmore and Coal Ila.
