Smögen 6 Year Old 100 Proof
Superb 6 year old Swedish single malt from Smögen! This expression was made using heavily peated malt, and matured in Oloroso sherry quarter casks, which are smaller than your run-of-the-mill casks. The result is a whisky offering up plenty of sherried sweetness, but it's well-balanced by powerful helpings of smoke and savoury richness. The Smögen team has made a cracking dram here - as we have come to expect from them!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Roasted oak and red chilli flakes, with juicy raspberry and thick-cut marmalade, plus a touch of cinnamon.
Palate
Chocolate, red chilli heat once again, earthy peat with wafts of savoury smoke, sweeter hints of raisin developing.
Finish
Vanilla, white pepper and a touch of oak.
