Slipknot No.9 Whiskey

Much-loved heavy metal band Slipknot has teamed up with Cedar Ridge Distillery to created Slipknot No.9 Whiskey! Blended by Slipknot's very own Shawn "Clown" Crahan (he can be seen sporting a clown mask when performing, hence the name), the whiskey features Iowa corn as well as a helping of rye, which brings a kick of spice to the fore. Both Slipknot and Cedar Ridge hail from Iowa, and judging by the whiskey they've made together, they seem like a fantastic fit. With that in mind, stick on Slipknot's Iowa album, pour yourself a glass of this and enjoy!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Hefty waves of honey, toasted cornbread and just a touch of smoked paprika.

Palate Toffee apples, chocolate digestives, citrus blossom, cracked black pepper and caraway.

Finish Continued chocolatey notes, with some fragrant florals coming in right at the end.

Good bourbon but
This is not for savouring, which I prefer, when drinking whiskey. This is for shots, it has little depth or complexity of flavour so isn't worth savouring.

Shockingly Good
As a lot of people, I know and like the band. However, I wasn't about to buy a fairly expensive bottle of whiskey based on a bands' name alone!

Saying that though.. After over 2 years considering the same, I decided to order some as I wanted to try something new.

But.. I'm glad I did. I believe it's my new favourite/perhaps second whiskey I've ever tasted, and I've tried most from standard Buffalo Trace to the whole range of Blanton's. So this.. This is something special. Try it.

One of my favorites! In my top 5 of whisky’s. Didn’t expect too much from it being a bang whisky but this is no generic. A must try for any whisky fan!

Absolute Quality
Do not let the Slipknot branding fool you, this is a quality, smooth and delicious whiskey that has shot right to the top of my re-buy list. Easy to drink, great notes of citrus and spice with a slight kick at the very end. Once I get through this bottle I will definitly be getting another. Superb!

A wonderful representation of balance in a whiskey. Honey, citrus, chocolate and spice. Goes from smooth to a rye bite at the end. Very nice!

Absolutely brilliant whisky,best mate bought me a bottle for my 50th & the thing is once your pour it,it hasn’t got that scotch whiskey smell or taste to it,more like a bourbon & got a kick to it but mixed or straight it’s a beautiful smooth drink...
