Named for a mythological shape-shifting creature said to transform into irresistible human-like beings, The Silkie is a blended Irish whiskey from Sliabh Liag in County Donegal, Ireland. This fabled inspiration doesn't simply end at the name - the whiskey itself is an attractive expression boasting notes of fresh fruit, stroopwafel and stem ginger.

Nose

Apricot, white grape, clotted cream and buttered hot cross buns.

Palate

Runny honey, chocolate digestives, a hint of spicy fruit cake.

Finish

Caramel sticks around on the finish for a good long while.

Not what it says on the tin.

Its disappointing in so much that the labeling all points to the fact that it's a Whiskey made in Donegal when in fact they haven't even got an operational distillery yet. The whiskey itself it nothing but a bog standard Cooley whiskey that is simply bland.
