Taste and explore a dram without buying a whole bottle!
A straightforward, nutty and malty single malt from Speyside, the Singleton of Dufftown was released to replace the Singleton of Auchroisk. It’s aged in a high proportion of European oak casks.
If you're looking to use this little stunner in a cocktail, then you could do a lot worse than making a classic Highball. You can find a recipe for one right here.
Nose: Malty with cereal/barley sweetness, buttery toast, wood shavings, hay and walnut.
Palate: Orange zest spiciness perks up a malty core of nuts, oak and toffee, hints of cut grass.
Finish: Oaky, rich with good length, some fruit lingers.

Tried this for the first time a year ago and was underwhelmed. Left it for some time in the bottle (as we know this can benefit them sometimes) and same at the later, not too much going on. Bit of baking spice, custard, hazelnut, the usual y'know. Short finish too which is always disappointing for me.Perhaps a good option to introduce someone to whisky or if you're partial to a highball if it's on offer but for the money, I'd sooner choose a Tomintoul, Benriach, a quality blended malt from the region or even as a few other reviewers have pointed out, the Aldi glen marnoch offerings.

Bought as a BD present - a very nice drink which I would buy myself.

Not bad but very basic , I'd be using this instead of blended whiskys for mixing , it's not going to break the bank but offers more than bog standard blends, if I'm pressed to describe the taste I get an oaky orange taste with a buttered toast , short finish

I got this for Christmas from my mother….. no doubt a special offer buy from the supermarket. Not good at all, like paint stripper. I can’t give this away! Leave the whisky choices to me damn it. I am an 18 yo kind of guy, you really can tell the difference in a premium whisky and this. However, the gesture was nice. As a side note, any of the Speysides from Aldi are fantastic and much cheaper.

This Whisky was, on special offer at, twenty five quid in Waitrose. It is similar to 12 year old Glenlivet, but perhaps a little more ‘oaky’, They both have that rather - ‘pear drops and Calvados with a bit of spice’ - effect, which I enjoy. It is in no way harsh, but a teaspoon of water renders it very smooth indeed. If you want peat and smoke (which I don’t) go elsewhere.I like it. It suits my pocket. If it is still the same price when I have finished this bottle I shall certainly buy another.Best wishes to all.
Absolute rubbish, best avoided. Got a sample along with my delivery. The tasting notes suggested it as a cocktail mixer probably explains it better than I could.

An easy drinking drop of nectar. Not too harsh, but still a whisky with character. In my opinion it tastes as good as , or better , than some more than twice it's price. Speyside rules

Along with Old Pulteney 12 this has to be one of the worst 12 years olds on the market. Bland and completely uninspiring
