From Signatory's Un-Chillfiltered Collection comes a rather mysterious single malt from the Speyside region. No clues as to which distillery it was produced at, but we do know it was distilled in March 2007, aged in refill butts and eventually drawn from vatting cask DRU17/A190#13 13 years later. Has that helped you figure out the mystery...? No, us neither. Still, tasty whisky, though!
Lots of honeyed barley and runny caramel notes, balanced by a robust helping of earthy barley.
Peaches and cream, walnut loaf, sticky toffee pudding, Sesame Snaps.
Lingering toffee sweetness on the finish.
This is a beautifully crafted whisky. Unchillfiltered, natural colour and bottled at 46%....it has all the right credentials. I am not and experienced whisky drinker....and I cannot decipher all the flavour profiles, but I’ve been privileged to taste many whiskies...and I have to say for the price point this is beautiful. It’s pale in colour but don’t be deceived it has bags of flavour. This is my first signatory whisky, and definitely not my last. Great job.
