After batches one, and two, and three, and four, and five, it's time for a sixth batch of the superbly delicious Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire & Cask Strength 10 Year Old! Hailing from an undisclosed Islay distillery, 25% of this single malt enjoyed a stay in sherry casks, imparting a satisfying sweetness to the robustly smoky, earthy whisky. Weighing in at 55.6% ABV, there's plenty of added depth and intensity to be found in this full-bodied cask strength expression... you might like to punctuate with a dash of water or a cube of ice to open up all that flavour.
Dried fruit and crystalised ginger are joined by waves of pebbly minerality and smoky coastal spray.
Earthy peat leads the way, with charred coffee grounds and cacao in tow. Jammy stone fruits gather beneath, with stewed apricot and salted plum.
Meaty malt lingers, with maritime layers of seaweed, dark chocolate Brazil nuts, and cinnamon snaps.
Powerful Islay character and flashes of sherry sweetness make this a dreamy dram from beginning to end.

Not sure what other review is talking about, this whisky is smooth, smoky and sweet.
This sounded like a very interesting whisky. I wasn't sure if it would be my cup of...whisky... but was confident it would be interesting. The only notable characteristic was the alcohol strength. Other than the burn (not something I've experienced with other cask strength/similar strength whisky) this whisky seemed completely bland and lacking in any interesting flavour at all. I have no idea why I received an email from MoM singing it's praises. Feel like a bit of a sucker.
