Seaweed & Aeons CS #001 Bottling Note

So, you know Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire? Fantastic Islay single malt, aged for 10 years, sans-serif font. Yeah, that one. What they've done here is they've bottled up that excellent whisky at cask strength! It's a terrific single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed distillery on the legendary Isle of Islay, with 25% of said whisky having been finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry octaves, and finally bottled at 57.5% ABV. This has bolstered the complex, satisfying smoky notes, as well giving those rich, fruity, sherried notes some more heft, too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Strong sea breeze and roasted barley, grounded by flame raisins and red apples.

Palate: Another flurry of coastal air wafts through, plus hints of earthy peat - though the sherried richness is never far away.

Finish: Strong coffee with a dash of milk, charred oak and a flash of spicy yet fruity red pepper flake.

Overall: This one's flavour profile has definitely been dialled up a few notches, but remains restrained and deliberate.

Ridiculous value

How is this below £50? A proper threat.

Holy Smoke...

It has only really been the last couple years I have embraced peaty smokey ones.
I really liked the original release.
Now I always like to have a bottle of Lagavulin 16, Bowmore 15 or if budget allows Paul John Peated Select in the cupboard (or, if being honest, all three).
I am pretty confident this is now Peat No. 1 for me. The price as well..... hard to look at it and be put off when its cheaper than the ones I mentioned earlier....
I just hope this stays a low key dismissed gem.of a whiskey....

Praise the lord!

Our prayers answered. Full strength at last. Was enamoured of the original bottling (especially the price) and this at full strength is unbeatable.
