A release of 677 bottles of Tobermory matured in sherry butt number 5993. This was distilled in February 1996 and bottled in March of 2010 by Douglas Laing.
Nose: Walnut, toffee, pecans, maple syrup, gunpowder, wood varnich. Very interesting.
Palate: Lots of sherry character, hints of barrel char, dates, spices, honey.
Finish: Good oaky finish. Hints of smoke, then nutty, almost chocolatey. Pepper.
