Another impressive limited-release from New Zealand’s Scapegrace distillery, Dimension is a single made with Manuka smoked malted barley. It was then matured in 200-litre virgin French oak casks for a minimum of three years before being bottled up at 46% ABV, with no chill-filtration, and without additional colouring.
Poached pears, cut grass, cinnamon, oak char, and spiced nuts.
Biscuity malt, smoked spices, orchard fruit, and honey.
Nutmeg and walnut.
$32.65 - $69.14
I can't explain how different this whisky is from any other. It reminds me of the first time I tasted Laphroaig, not because it is in any way similar, but, like Laphroaig, it is unlike any other whisky you'll ever tase, but not in a bad way. I shared this with my tasting group and it was universally enjoyed. Notes of leather came to mind, but other than that we found it difficult to describe. I'll be back for more that is certain.
Please don't waste your money on this vile excuse of a whisky. It smells like Jorvik viking centre and I imagine it also tastes like running your tongue across the floor at viking feast. So unpleasant I can't even give it away. Filth.
