This 16-year-old single malt from Orkney's Scapa was originally launched in 2008, and later discontinued in 2015. A great find for fans of this hard-to-find gem.

Smooth. but with depth
Smooth drinkable & special
Very easy, too easy!, to drink.
Silky. Honey, some citrus notes, very mild.
I have been drinking quite a few single malts of late - a bit of a saturation drive to truly establish what i like and what i don't like. I am not drinking these in the same sitting but a different dram nightly on consecutive nights. I have just finished a bottle of Deanston 12yr old and loved it. Then i come to this Scapa 16yr old and i must say it is a very polite SM. Easy to drink - smooth and requires no water or ice imho. There is no burn. Yes the bouquet notes are correct - not too sure if i agree on the length. It is a nice velvety texture. If you like a polite mature non-offensive conservative whiskey then this is for you. Would I purchase another bottle? Perhaps I would just to have for those friends of mine who don't drink a lot of SMW - because this is sure to please everyone with its polite delivery.
