Description

From the Sailor's Home Irish whiskey range comes The Journey, which features whiskey aged in virgin American oak casks then finished in bourbon barrels blended with malt whiskey aged in bourbon barrels then finished in Jamaican rum casks. An satisfying expression, bursting with vanilla, malt and baking spices.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Fudge, coffee cake, clove, apricot jam and vanilla custard.

Palate

More vanilla custard creaminess, supported by apple crumble and cinnamon sticks.

Finish

A touch of banana bread and salted butter.

My new go to Irish whiskey

Love the rum cask influence in this. Super quaffable and versatile. For a relatively young whisky the complexity and development is fantastic. Jamaican rum casks offer a little hint of banana pudding on the finish. Really lovely.
