Sailor's Home The Horizon Bottling Note

The Horizon is a 10 year old blended Irish whiskey from the Sailor's Home range, initially matured in bourbon casks, before being treated to a finishing period in Barbados rums casks. Packed full of vanilla and vibrant fruit fruit notes, this one.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Apricot, vanilla pod, banana muffin and clove.

Palate: Layers of honey and pineapple, joined by a touch of pink peppercorn.

Finish: Fruit tea, toasted crumpets and brown sugar.

This gets better and better.

Cracked this open at Christmas. Loved it but couldn't put my finger on exactly why. It's what I call a 'grower'. It just gets better and better. It's clearly excellent whisky and the finish in Barbados rum cask just gives it extra polish and complexity. Great depth and balance. Stunning whiskey for not a lot of money
