The Haven from Sailor's Home is a single pot still Irish whiskey, made with malted and unmalted Irish barley and oats, which has matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks. Creamy and softly sweet, with a good helping of classic single pot still spiciness sneaking through too.
Croissants, buttered bread, sultanas and ginger.
Black pepper, nectarine, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon and dry oak.
Just a hint of orange peel and honey lasts.
This is a real cracker. Beautifully creamy, complex and a lot of whiskey for the money. A really great example of pot still Irish.
