Sailor's Home Stormchaser

Joining the Sailor's Home series, Stormchaser is an impressive triple distilled single malt Irish whiskey with waves of character. Initially matured in a combo of virgin oak and bourbon casks, and then divided into two rather different, but superbly complimentary types of cask for finishing – Irish stout barrels, and Madeira wine casks! This ought to get plenty of juices flowing with generous layers of cacao, roasted malt, vanilla, dried fruits, and coffee.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Dark chocolate and dense roasted malt are supported by waves of buttery oak and a touch of hoppy bitterness.

Palate A dusting of cinnamon, cacao, and coffee grounds joins thick-cut marmalade, dates, and vanilla cream.

Finish Treacly layers of muscovado sugar, plump raisins, prunes, and just a smidge of pepper.

I've tried a few whiskeys in and around this price range and this is a marked step up in quality than redbreast and green spot and others. Really smooth and you can smell and taste the chocolate. Almost velvety to drink and exceptionally moorish
