A cask strength Maryland-style rye whiskey from Sagamore Spirits! The sweeter Maryland-style rye isn't seen all that often these days, though its importance to rye whiskey's history can't be understated. For this expression, Sagamore blend two ryes sourced from Indiana and add just a dash of spring water, resulting in a full-bodied, powerfully-flavoursome whiskey.

Really interesting, grilled orange, wintergreen, rye spice. Strange oddity I found, flavour profile is fragile even though its cask strength. Tread carefully with water 1 or 2 drops using a straw at max, I actually prefer this 1 neat.
It's hard to find really complex, powerful rye. I often go for Pikesville or (unavailable) Redemption, using Rittenhouse for Manhattans. This is a very satisfying addition to my premium rye list. Very powerful, needs water, intense, long in the mouth, tons of body, well-balanced spice. Highly recommended.
I read about this in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible - 95 points. So I bought a bottle and would agree with that rating.
