Royal Salute 21 Signature

An absolute gem of a whisky, the 21 year old Royal Salute Signature Blend is a sophisticated expression. It's aged for a minimum of 21 years in honour of the 21 Gun Salute that is fired at the Tower of London for Royal celebration. The whisky is presented in a classic blue Wade ceramic decanter.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose Powerful aromas of sweet pears and citrus fruits are balanced with the full fragrance of summer flowers. Elegant aromas of sweet vanilla and a dry oakiness are enhanced with subtle notes of sherry and smoke.

Palate The first sip releases sumptuous sweet orange marmalade flavours infused with fresh pears that burst across the tongue.The second brings a rich medley of spices and a nuttiness of hazelnuts that have an intensity before finally releasing a warmth with hints of smoke.

Finish Long, sweet and fruity.

Very tasty
I only got a wee dram bottle as a taster, I really liked it neat but I did add a drop of water on my second sip and it opened it up beautifully. I'm not good at tasting notes and nose but I will say that I will treat myself a bottle for sure

Should be higher strength and unchillfiltered
Would be better if it was higher strength and unchillfiltered but I can't complain I got a bottle of this for nothing from my parents, it has decent cask maturation and a large amount of single malts in the blend but I don't think I would pay the full price.

A blend better than many single malts !!!!!
Like a previous reviewer, I was also given this by someone unaware of its provenance and, like another reviewer, had to decant it because the cork crumbled!
I am not an expert, but I found it to be of excellent quality, very smooth (too easy to drink actually!) and a wonderful flavour. In my ignorance I had always believed single malts to
be superior to blended whisky, but this one shows how wrong you can be.

Received a bottle of this as a gift from a non whisky lover today. Apparently it's been in his cupboard for years and he was going to pour it down the sink!!!!!So glad he didn't. It's unreal. Literally tastes like the best boozy Christmas cake in a bottle. So deep in flavour and smooth. Best gift for a long time.

A seriously good buy - something for everyone except smokeheads.
Simply sensational, and a good example of why aged blends are such fantastic value for money be aged single malts. The extra complexity & overall balance makes it a veritable masterpiece.

Very smooth.
Well I've recently open a bottle of this that was over 30 yrs old on of my late Dads that he bought from the actual factory that long ago .
The cork broke into pieces but was able to decanter into another mt 18yr old Chivas bottle.
It was wonderful to taste one for SPECIAL occasions .
