A special Sapphire-coloured edition of Chivas' Royal Salute 21 year old - a superb blend.
Like others that have reviewed this whisky. I’m afraid it seems like the bottle has been victim of not being sealed correctly, something isn’t right with it. Shrink wrapped, and cork in tact. But still some cork in the whisky itself. Not a fan of this. Very bad overwhelming bitter taste that you can’t get rid of. Please note that I didn’t buy this from master of malt. It was bought at auction. I just find it funny that quite a lot of other people have had the same experience with it.
Frankly very disappointing, as stated elsewhere there are much better blends for for much less money. I just don’t like Chivas whiskys they have an odd flavour to my palate, it may just be me ...........?
This is one Scotch Whisky that made me re-think the label brand snobbery, yes we all look for the single malt, the smoke, the peat, the chocolate, the TCP, the vanilla..... Etc. Etc. But this 21 Yr old is full of character like no other... Well to what I have enjoyed (in excess of over 100). It has a well deserved place on my finest whisky shelf.
Velvety smooth. Real rich and complex.
Bought it from my neighbourhood Dan Murphy in Richmond, Australia. Taste and flavour is below average. Pretty disappointing for the price being charged for it.
