The 16 year old release from the Royal Brackla single malt Scotch whisky range, and perhaps the pick of the bunch with an abundance of spicy Oloroso character. It's also beautifully presented, with a particularly large punt.
Ripe red apple at first before thick crème brûlée takes charge with apricot, custard and a little Buttercup cough syrup.
Spicy, caramelised apples and orchard fruit, vanilla and fresh black cherries.
Rich cocoa and baking spices.
Indulgent and regal chocolate spice character.

Great malt, one of my favorites.
Fantastic. Smooth, rich yet not overpowering. Very sophisticated, mature and sure of itself. I'm impressed.
Not bad for my first try of one the last great malts of Scotland range and it's very well rounded and very well behaved and there are no shocks from this at all. It does what it says on the tin or bottle rather but none the less I'd like to try the 21 Y/O next and then a really young one to compare them against.
tasty easy to drink neat. Tastes like a Speyside (not much peat).
