Royal Brackla was the very first Scottish distillery to receive 'royal' status when, in 1833, it was bestowed upon them by King William IV. Most of the distillery's production goes into Dewar's blends, but as with other Dewar's distilleries a single malt range has been launched as part of the Last Great Malts. For the Royal Brackla Oloroso casks have been used for a luxurious, regal feel, with beautiful packaging to match.
Florentines, Coco Pop cakes, slightly leafy, more ginger. A drop of water brings out more green apple and toasted almond.
Pain au raisin. Pain au chocolat. Baking spices and gateau.
Milk chocolate dusting (not cocoa) and a hint of fizzy apple sweets.
A distinguished Oloroso cask matured malt.
Opened the bottle tonight and have literally drunk half of it and can honestly say "Smoooooth! This is not a drunken appraisal......it is a recommendation that this whisky at $100 is all "one" needs to spend. It has all the purity and mellowness that a discerning single malt whisky imbiber would appreciate.
