Description

An impressive blended malt Scotch from Rockstar Spirits, Both Barrels sees a combo of malt two malt whiskies, one from the Highlands and one from Speyside, matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at cask strength, this is a versatile expression that ought to lend itself to all manner of sipping, mixing, and spirit-forward cocktails.

Nose

Candied oranges, dipped in chocolate with buttery oak, and vanilla.

Palate

Gingerbread and honeyed pastry lead to red berries and creamy malt, with gentle oak char and butterscotch joining along the way.

Finish

Lingering baking spices and stewed fruits, with biscuity barley and warming prickles of ginger.

With a little water this is a nice easy sipper, no great age but well made with a distinct buttery edge
