Roasting Chestnuts &... Bottling Note

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, and the look of ampersands on a label. It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy, because it means the &Whisky folk have been up to their usual, delicious tricks. Here, a spectacular 50:50 blend of 10-year-old Islay and sherried Islay single malts cosy up together to give you Roasting Chestnuts & Peat Fire Embers & Mince Pies & Hygge. Hygge is a Danish word describing a feeling of warmth, cosiness, and well being, so kick back and enjoy this full-flavoured, fireside dram, full of superb smoke and sherry sweetness.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Hot roasted chestnuts, buttery shortbread, mince pies, and a touch of Islay sea spray.

Palate: Smouldering peat builds, with sticky muscovado sugar, cinnamon and waves of sherry fruit sweetness.

Finish: Sweet, roasted chestnut smoke lingers, along with comforting mince pie spice.

Overall: It doesn't get much better than a dram of this and a warm blanket on a cold, winter's evening, we reckon!

Ok
Growing on me now it's been open a while. Initially I did not like it at all but it mellows a bit with time.

Yeah not spitting it out.
It's alright. Definitely Islay. Bit young, but fairly smooth (or, diluted). Expecting a bit more at this price point for mixed leftovers, perhaps, but it is not bad. Just overpriced.

Not bad.
I found it a bit rough on the finish. Much better with a few drops of water though. Decent enough for the price.

Pure Hygge bottled
This is a whisky that delivers exactly what it says on the bottle. Pure Hygge in 70cl - a lovely dram to sit with watching the fire burn and the flames dance through the night.
A great big cuddle in a dram!

Wow
What a whisky taste and smells exactly as it says on the bottle. Perfect for infront of the fire on a cold winters night..highly recommend this bottle for peat lovers and especially if you like roasted chestnuts.

Perfect Christmas whisky
My daughter bought me a bottle of this for Christmas, and by gosh did she choose well, it retains the Islay character with added interest and depth that stays on the palette, a wonderful winter dram!

Hygge in a bottle
Actually wondered if this was a clever marketing ploy, chestnuts, Hygge …but it’s not. Does everything is says on the label, warm, smooth, aromatic. A great whisky.

Hygge achieved.
