This is the debut release from Rhythm and Booze Records, the independent bottler and record label which aims to bring together all that's good in the world of music and whisky. This first release is a 13 year old blended malt that's been matured in a sherry butt. Richly fruited and with a touch of leathery spice, this whisky was selected to pair perfectly with the blues sound of the Rhythm and Booze Project – a musical duo made up of Felipe Schrieberg and Paul Archibald.
Rich nose with malt extract, molasses, orange peel and dried fruit, some dark cherry too. Sherried malt fans will love this.
Aromatic and spicy on the palate, black and pink peppercorns, there's a salty element here too - as if there might be something smoky in the blend - with a refreshing edge to it.
Walnuts, toffee and chocolate on the finish. Very nice.
