    Redbreast 15 Year Old

A beautiful pure pot still whiskey (or "single pot still" as it's now officially known). Triple copper pot distilled from a combo of malted and unmalted barley, this whiskey aged in a combo of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks for a rich, thick, sweet, pungent whiskey with impressive depth and complexity.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Fruity and tangy. Notes of zesty citrus, cut hay, guava, beeswax, manuka honey and tropical fruits.

    Palate

Creamy and smooth, notes of cooked fruits, fried banana, orange groves, nutmeg, butterscotch and caramel lattes.

    Finish

    Custard, peppermint and grapefruit.

    Perhaps the best Irish whiskey

Haven't had it in quite some time so I can't give a proper review but it is certainly my favorite Irish whiskey. I find it's even better than the Redbreast 21, and, as a single malt fanatic I've found that most whiskies tend to "peak" at 15 years and after, begin to take on more oak than anything else. This one is viscous and pungent. One of my favorite drams and I intend to open a bottle on St. Patrick's day.

    Fantastico !

The most intriguing and enchanting...after taste. Magical ! Sure, the ' little people ' must be involved. Beyond the Beyond ! Tastier than Middleton,so.

    15, not 12

First let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of the 12 yo RB. A great buy and usually my choice of drink at a bar, but I keep the 15 yo at home. That being said I personally feel that the 15 yo and 12 yo shouldn't be so closely compared, as I see so many reviewers do on this site and others. The 15 is more expensive, but offers more complexity and aromas that (if allowed to open up properly) are a step or two above the 12 yo. Remember, I really love the 12 yo, too. It's just in a different subset of really good whiskey, to me. It's like the difference between riding in a Corvette Z06 and a Ferrari. They're both world class sports cars, one's perceived as a better "deal" than the other, and you can really have fun in both. Which you choose to buy is pure preference. I prefer Ferraris.

    What a wild ride

Had this with a single ice cube at the Dirty Onion in Belfast as a session tootled away. Each sip was a roller coaster. Hot, honey, fruit, butterscotch, citrus, leather, peat, vanilla...and heat again, but the heat of an embrace, not a burn. This is lovely stuff.
