Description

A beautiful pure pot still whiskey (or "single pot still" as it's now officially known). Triple copper pot distilled from a combo of malted and unmalted barley, this whiskey aged in a combo of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks for a rich, thick, sweet, pungent whiskey with impressive depth and complexity.

Nose

Fruity and tangy. Notes of zesty citrus, cut hay, guava, beeswax, manuka honey and tropical fruits.

Palate

Creamy and smooth, notes of cooked fruits, fried banana, orange groves, nutmeg, butterscotch and caramel lattes.

Finish

Custard, peppermint and grapefruit.

Simply amazing

I bought Redbreast 15 as my first foray into Irish whiskies, and I was absolutely floored. Holy cow, this is the best whiskey, from any country, that I have ever tasted. Very complex, without tiring the palate. I tasted delicious vanilla, custard and the lightest hint of wood. Don’t bother with Yamazaki 12, pick up two bottles of this instead. It’s expensive, but I refuse to daily drink any other whisky now. Simply sublime.

Glorious, simply glorious.

Nose: Apple crumble, but not the garbage we typically make. This is Michelin. Palate: Sweet vanilla sponge cake...hints of ginger. After: The spice drops gently back in, some wooded sherry adding it steps to the journey.

Truly amazing

This is an absolutely exquisite, insanely smooth dram, cannot recommend enough. Don’t bother with Yamasaki 12, just get this!
