Description

A delightful single pot still Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 Year Old is highly praised by a host of notable critics. Distilled at the Midleton site from malted and unmalted barley, it’s then matured in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts. We can't get enough of this multi-award-winning whiskey.

Nose

Nutty, rich and oily. There are notes of dried peels, ginger, linseed and cut fruits including a touch of melon.

Palate

Spicy with great body. Nuts and citrus (peel and juice) with hints of marzipan, dried fruits and a hint of Sherry. You turn it over in your mouth forever.

Finish

Long and creamy with custard and spice.

Reviews for Redbreast 12 Year Old

Simply the breast...

Superb whiskey, a little burn at start just to make you sit up and take notice, before your hit with an nutty sherry hit on the tongue with a sweeter creamy finish, one of the best examples of Irish whiskey available and good value

Master of Malt Customer Apr 14, 2017

Redbreast or Red-throated tit !

My problem with this whiskey was the hype/expectation. It is a good whiskey, but i'd rather pay an extra £5 for the Powers Johns Lane any day.

Master of Malt Customer Apr 13, 2017

A real nice Irish sipping whiskey.

Scotch and Brandy have been my traditional drinks but picked this one up to celebrate St. Paddy's Day. It comes in with a little burn but quickly mellows down to render a creamy and complex assortment of flavours.

Master of Malt Customer Mar 19, 2017

Tasty

Smooth, rich and delicious, a great sipping whiskey and a solid example of the widely admired single pot still variety.

Master of Malt Customer Mar 18, 2017

Best around

Excellent drink. Very smooth and easy to sip away on. I am mostly a Speyside Scotch drinker but really love a good Irish. And in my mind this is a GREAT drop........
