Enjoyably coastal single malt from Old Pulteney, this 15 year old expression matured in both bourbon and Spanish oak casks resulting in a splendid balance of sweetness and spice. Excellent stuff from this much-celebrated distillery in the Highlands.
Toffee, coffee and sultanas. Balanced sweetness of toffee and sea spray salinity.
Salted caramel cookies, green apple sharpness, sea salt and straw.
Chocolate with red chilli. A hint of spiced rum warmth.

Great nose, fruity fudge and sweet malt. At first it is fruity on the palate, I get the green apple. Then comes the peppery chili-heat and salt, and the salt lingers in the finish.
I loved everything about this whisky. the nose, the delivery and the finish. Superb. If you enjoy sipping complex whisky, this is a great place to start. Enjoy! Oh, pretty good value as well I believe.
This reminds me of Springbank. Salty, spice, chocolate, fruity, medium/long finnish. Not quite as good as Springbank, wich is my favourite distillery, but this is really good stuff. John
Reviewed the Huddart and twelve year old previously this week with soso reviews. Now it is starting to get to a level of complexity where I find the whisky interesting and tasty.
